Projector Technologies
Epson is refining its original microdisplay and projection technologies and is creating outstanding visual experiences and a natural visual communications environment for every aspect of business and life.
Core Technology
Epson projectors are powered by 3LCD technology, which uses color separation optical technology to split light into the three primary colors-red, green, and blue. Each color is processed through a dedicated LCD to create the image, which is then combined using a special prism for projection. Epson's proprietary high-temperature polysilicon TFT liquid crystal panels are used for the LCDs, and numerous technologies are integrated to maximize light transmission and utilization efficiency. By bringing together these advanced technologies, Epson delivers vivid, high-definition images with rich gradations and faithful color reproduction.
Epson's Unique Optical Technologies
The optical engine, the heart of a projector, is composed of the light source, color separation system, light modulation device, projection lens, optical design, and mechanical design. Epson's advanced technologies enable bright, vibrant, large-screen images that inspire and impress our customers.
Here, we introduce Epson's proprietary core technologies: the 3LCD system that utilizes our unique microdisplay technology, laser light source technology that demands high-precision optical processing, and thermal management made possible by our HTPS (high-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD) panels.
Other Technologies
Epson projectors are equipped with a wide range of technologies developed to address customer challenges and solve societal issues.
