Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "the Company") hereby announces that it has applied to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection ("CBP") for a refund of tariffs and has received notification that the review of its application has recently been completed by the relevant authorities, and thereby the amount finalized as described below.

Following a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court that tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were invalid, CBP commenced operation of Phase 2 of the Customs Automated Processing Environment (CAPE), a system for processing refund applications for such tariffs, on June 29, 2026.

Accordingly, certain U.S. subsidiaries of the Company initiated procedures in June 2026 to apply for refunds of such tariffs totaling USD 109 million, and the review of those applications has now been completed.

As a result, an eligible refund of USD 109 million (approximately JPY 17 billion), together with the related interest, is expected to be recorded in the 2nd quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027.

The impact of the above on the Company's consolidated financial forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027 has already been reflected in the Financial Results for the First Quarter of Fiscal Year 2026 [IFRS] (Consolidated), announced on August 5, 2026.
