- TOKYO, Japan, February 12, 2026 -
Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "Epson") has developed two new compact, high-precision, temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO), the TG1210SRN and TG1210STN. These products support the development of systems across a wide range of applications, including GNSS2 modules, wearable devices, and IoT equipment.
Sample shipments are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026 for the TG1210SRN and in the fourth quarter of 2026 for the TG1210STN.
In recent years, the growing demand for high precision, low power timing devices has been driven by the expansion of markets for high accuracy positioning systems such as GNSS, wearable devices such as smartwatches, and IoT equipment such as smart home and industrial sensors. In addition, there is increasing demand for TCXOs with stable frequency-temperature characteristics under high temperature conditions for use in communication modules, factory automation (FA) equipment, and timing solutions for data centers.
To meet these market needs, the TG1210SRN and TG1210STN deliver high precision frequency-temperature characteristics (±0.5 × 10-6 Max.) across an operating temperature range from -40 ℃ to +105 ℃. They also maintain stable performance even under demanding conditions, such as when temperatures rapidly fluctuate, ensuring the type of reliable operation required for GNSS and communication functions embedded in wearable devices.
The TG1210SRN supports a range of supply voltages from 1.70 V to 3.63 V, enabling flexible design for communication modules and industrial equipment. In contrast, the TG1210STN operates at a low supply voltage of 1.10 V to 1.95 V, making it suitable for applications requiring low power consumption, such as smartwatches and mobile devices.
Both products come in a compact 1.2 × 1.0 mm package. That is 63% smaller in cubic volume than comparative models. The smaller size saves space in customers' devices. In addition, the built in standby function helps extend operating time in IoT and wearable applications.
Epson will continue to contribute to society by leveraging its efficient, compact, and precise technologies to deliver crystal device products that meet the needs of a wide range of electronic equipment and social infrastructure.
