International Women's Day Event 2025

Lecture by Prof. Asli Colpan: "Diversity Management and Corporate Value"

At Epson, the average length of service for women is 19.3 years, which is longer than that of men. The rate of women taking childcare leave is also high at 97.9%, indicating that women are able to work and thrive over the long term. However, there is a significant gender gap in terms of career advancement. Only 4.7% of managers are women. Three women hold executive positions, two of whom are outside directors. (All figures are current as of FY2023).

Recognizing this gender gap as a challenge, Epson is taking steady steps to become a company where all employees—regardless of gender—can pursue and realize their desired careers. To eliminate existing gender gaps and prevent new ones from emerging, it is essential to have accurate understanding and strong commitment from management.

To mark International Women's Day, Epson invited Professor Asli Colpan, Professor at the Graduate School of Management and the Graduate School of Economics at Kyoto University, and Executive Vice President of Kyoto University, to deliver a keynote speech on "Diversity Management and Corporate Value" for Epson's directors and executives.
